Makuto boasts one of the best locations in Granada, in the heart of the
UNESCO declared quarter of El Albayzin in a recently restored traditional
Andalucian 'Carmen' house which, back upon time, belonged to Santa Isabel
La Real Monastery. We have just finished an amazing renovation and
EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW. New beds, new kitchen, new bathrooms, new
tv lounge, new lockers, and a three level garden area with an arab chill out,
mexican hammocks and a courtyard. All work to bring you closer to what it is
really like to live in this historical and magical neighborhood.

You will notice A HUGE DIFFERENCE FROM OTHER HOSTELS the moment you
walk through the door. Here you'll be treated as an honored guest and
offered your first cup of FREE TEA AND COFFEE which is available 24 hours
a day. Makuto is fully equipped with modern conveniences such as FREE DVD
in-house movies and cable TV, fully equipped kitchen and FREE INTERNET
access. When arriving we provide you a lot of usefull information about the
city, things to do, places to go, bus and trains timetables, local flamenco
places, spanish culture features, bike renting and a lot more of non typical
travellers info.

We offer affordable accommodation in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere,
right in the heart of the city. Our central location will enable you to reach all
of the city's attractions, San Nicolas view point (the best panoramic view of
the Alhambra), and the 'Ojo de Granada' viewpoint (with overwhelming views
of the Cathedral and the hole city).
Very close to Plaza Nueva, Calle Elvira, (tapas bars and nightclubs), Calle
Caldereria (a location full of Moorish tea shops and handicrafts). Flamenco
evenings can be discovered in the Sacromonte caves, a district 10 minutes
across Albayzin.

Makuto was created by a couple of spanish backpackers which enjoy some
years travelling around the world to bring to Granada the best atmosphere,
to make you feel even better than you do at home. We are a super clean
small hostel so if you are tired of big unpersonal hostels come to visit us. The

From the bus station: Take bus #3 or #33 at the main entrance of the bus
station and get off at Gran Via with Reyes Catolicos stop,(city center,
estimated time: 15 min),which is also known as the Cathedral stop. Walk
about 20 meters to reach the Reyes Catolicos statue and take minibus # 31
towards "Albayzin" Get off in Santa Isabel La Real monastery (estimated
time: 10 minutes). Walk about 10 meters on your left you will see our street
La Tina.

From the train station: Take bus # 3 or # 33 at the main entrance of the
train station and get off in Gran Via with Reyes Catolicos stop,(city center,
estimated time: 5 min.),which is also known as the Cathedral stop. Walk
about 20 meters to reach the Reyes Catolicos statue and take minibus # 31

time: 10 minutes). Walk about 10 meters and on your left you will see our
street La Tina.

From the airport: Take the airport bus to Granada and get off in Gran Via con
Reyes Catolicos stop,(city center, estimated time: 25 min.),which is also
known as the Cathedral stop. Walk about 20 meters to reach the Reyes
Catolicos statue and take minibus # 31 towards "Albayzin" Get off at Santa
Isabel La Real monastery (estimated time: 10 minutes). Walk for about 10
meters and on your left you will see our street La Tina.

Note: The price for a ticket is 90 centimes and it is possible to buy a 9 trips
voucher for 5 ? and a 20 trips voucher for 10 ?. Both, tickets and vouchers
can be bought in the bus. If you buy a voucher, the same bus ticket can be
used in different buses during one hour without additional cost. Time starts
counting from the moment you take the first bus.
